At the International Christian Mompreneur Network, we’re not making New Year’s Resolutions. We’re choosing a scripture verse to guide us through the year instead. We’re selecting a verse that speaks to our hearts and offers support, hope or motivation for us to live out the following year with purpose and direction. The following is part of a series of posts featuring members of the International Christian Mompreneur Network sharing their scripture verse of the year. We pray these posts will inspire and encourage you to select a scripture verse to guide you through the year as well.
Verse of the Year 2015 by Pat Fenner
“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by the long months of drought. Their leaves stay green and they never stop producing fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-9
Last year I was inspired by your concept of a Word for the Year. It was especially appealing to me because I am a long-time New Year’s resolution writer-and-quitter…and I wanted to break the cycle. I wrote about this in more detail on my blog here and here. It was such a success, at least such a huge encouragement to me, that I am following through with a new one this year! Building upon last year’s “Foundation”, I am moving onward and upward with “Reach”. Having built a solid foundation on the website a friend and I created, I need encouragement to reach even farther out of my comfort zone to grow – both the website and as a person! I am SO very excited about the coming year…even moreso than last year, because I can even FEEL the action in the verb I have chosen. In the coming year, I am praying that the Lord not only speaks to me and encourages me to reach out to others AND to Him, but also that He will continue to grow my trust and confidence in what He can do in and through me. 2015 – bring it ON!
