Meet Featured Sister Tammie Polk

Introducing the Christian Mompreneur Book Club!

t-polk-photoYou know how God brings just the right people into  your life at just the right time to fulfill his purposes? Well, I see that happen in my life all the time and Tammie Polk is one example! I had been talking with Elizabeth Green about starting a Book Club for Christian Mompreneurs in our Facebook Group (which you can join here if you’re not already a member!). We thought it would be fun to read a faith-based or business book together and discuss it in the group so we can share our knowledge and encourage one another. But who would moderate the group? Who would have the time and the passion and the skills to lead us on this journey? So I prayed about it. And then we just let the idea go until it was the right time. A few months later, Tammie showed up eager to support this ministry and lead our Book Club! Don’t you love when that happens?

So, I’d like to introduce you to our Featured Sister, Tammie Polk! She will be filling you in on our Book Club plans over in the Facebook Group, so be sure to join us there for details!

Meet Featured Sister Tammie Polk

Business Name: Tammie Terrell Mompreneur Coaching

Tammie’s Story:

My business started with the same as most…a conversation. I participated in a thread of homeschool moms asking what they could do to earn extra money and I mentioned my homeschool consulting and tutoring business. I formed a Facebook group for the ladies that responded to my comment. That’s how it started, but it soon shifted.

I started talking to moms and found that they had a lot of barriers to having both a strong business and strong family life as well. That’s why I do what I do..

I want women to understand that life is not standing in their way of having, being and doing more in their lives and businesses.

In December 2015, I wrote my first  faith-based business book, The Virtuous Business Woman: Inspired by Proverbs 31 to help women understand that those same attributes are relevant to the business world.

In July 2016, I took it a step further and addressed the excuses themselves in The 7 Virtuous Business Woman Slayers: The 7 Deadly Copouts.

My goal is to help women to Rise above their frustration, Reclaim their lives and talents  and Evolve into the woman who is free to transform those talents into a treasure.

Favorite Scripture:
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” – I Timothy 4:12

Hobbies, interests, gifts:

I love writing, playing computer, mobile, and console games, watching home improvement shows, reading, and spending time with my family!

I believe that my gifts are reaching and writing!

Tammie’s Family:

My husband is Elrico and we have three daughters: Yasmine (13), Jaelynn (8), and Caitlyn (3), as well as our Angel Baby Natalynn, who would have been 7 this year.

Greatest challenge as a mom entrepreneur:

I’d have to say my greatest challenge is working on one thing as a time! I always seem to have a million and one things going at once.

Advice for other mom entrepreneurs:

The gifts and talents that God gave you are meant to be used, not sat on. No matter how unimportant you may think they are, someone somewhere sometimes somehow will need the very talent you possess, so perfect it!

Why I love being a part of the Sisterhood of Christian Mompreneurs:

I love the fact that we are intentional and that we pray for each other, how supportive we are of each other, how we check in with each other when a need is mentioned and how we can share with each other and get encouragement and help in times of struggle.
