At the International Christian Mompreneur Network, we’re not making New Year’s Resolutions. We’re choosing a scripture verse to guide us through the year instead. We’re selecting a verse that speaks to our hearts and offers support, hope or motivation for us to live out the following year with purpose and direction. The following is part of a series of posts featuring members of the International Christian Mompreneur Network sharing their scripture verse of the year. We pray these posts will inspire and encourage you to select a scripture verse to guide you through the year as well.
Being challenged to think bigger lead me to this verse. For years, I used I Timothy 4:12 about being an example, but my thoughts really didn’t change much and I became complacent. When I embraced the challenge to think bigger, God began to show me a lot both through His Word and through others that I knew and trusted!
For example, I was challenged to take my book, The Virtuous Business Woman: Inspired by Proverbs 31 and turn it into a workshop, online course and train the trainer program. Those thoughts eventually turned into hosting my own business retreat in the near future. As a mom, I found myself looking for better ways to cultivate the interests of my children and now we are making plans to further that goal.
As both a mom and an entrepreneur, this verse challenges me in that it helps me to get out of my comfort zone and resist the urge to stay where I am when I know that I am capable of more. It leads me to come up with those goals that are scary and evaluate what I say I want for both my business and my family. The goals that I have achieved seemed to only be a small piece of the vision God gave me, but I was okay with that–until I started hearing this verse more and more. I realized that, in order to fully operate in light of that vision, I had to look at where things might go!
I pray that this verse will help me to look beyond what I can see and truly envision all that God has for me in my home and my business. I believe that the more I step into God’s vision for my home and business, the more that I will get done for Him and in His name. I believe that all that I need and desire for my home and business will be fulfilled by Him once I step into what He has asked me to do.
My mission is to help women to unleash the remarkable business owner within to become a woman of lasting influence. My goal is to help women to Rise above their frustration, Reclaim their lives and talents, and Evolve into the woman who is free to transform those talents into a treasure–a God-honoring business while maintaining a strong family base. I do this through the written word using my Virtuous Business Woman books!
