Meet Featured Sister Lisa Ellis Willams
*Update August 2016:
“I am honored to be featured here. Since the original interview in 2015 God has done amazing things in me, my ministry and my business. I am happy to report that I have now published two books, coaching many wives and use my gift of prayer to lead a prayer call which I have done since 2008. I love seeing women live a well balanced life to include marriage, motherhood, business and ministry and I have mastered some pretty effective strategies which I also teach. Being connected with the Sisterhood got me off to a strong start and I am grateful for that.” – Lisa Ellis Williams
Business Name: L. Williams Speaker Services (official name) DBA- Wives On Purpose
Business Description: I started a home based support group for Christian wives in 2005. I would share bible lessons to teach wives how to find success in marriage. The group named themselves Wives On Purpose. I kept it.
In 2009, with the wives sponsorship, I attended the She Speaks writers conference. They believed my message should be shared. My book proposal for Wife School accepted by Harvest House and Revel publishers. In the end I did not get a contract but self published the book in 2013. I began speaking to women’s ministries in 2008 and continue to do so. In 2014, my husband announced that I needed to make money at this or return to work full time. Scared to pieces, I formed the LLC that is my speaking and writing consulting business.
For I know that plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11 NIV Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths. – Proverbs 3:5
Hobbies, interests, gifts:
I enjoy Reading, swimming, and listening to music. My gifts seem to be teaching, prayer, and I am not sure what else. Lisa’s Family: I have been married to Stuart for a total of 25 years, including the time we were separated and the less than one year divorced. We have three children Rachel who is 21, Hailey is 13 and Gavin is 9.
Greatest challenge as a mom entrepreneur:
Time management to work on business and family matters. Marketing services, and to stop working in the evening.
Advice for other mom entrepreneurs:
Pray hard for productivity and health.
Why I love being a part of the Sisterhood of Christian Mompreneurs:
I desperately need a connection to other women who are doing what I am doing and those like Theresa who are seeing maybe not riches but definitely success.
