Meet Featured Sister Sue Ann Oltman

When I discovered Compelling Creations, I was immediately smitten. Inspirational jewelry that is beautiful and affordable – who wouldn’t be in love? Then I met Sue Ann Oltman and experienced her passion for growing the business and sharing her faith while spending quality time with her family. She’s a true inspiration and I am honored to call her a “sister” in faith and in the ICM Network!

Meet Featured Sister Sue Ann Oltman

Business Name: Compelling Creations

Business Description: Inspirational silver jewelry to encourage, challenge, comfort and uplift.

About Sue Ann:

I believe I was divinely directed to Compelling Creations. Being in direct sales was never something I envisioned myself doing, as I am not comfortable speaking in front of people and never wanted to be a “pushy home party lady”. However, here I am! I found an ad in the back of a magazine directed toward military spouses in 2008, looked up the website and found a whole new world of inspirational jewelry! In March of 2010, I joined Compelling Creations the first few days after their launch. I have grown with the company and now have a team of my own. My Compelling Creations business is a ministry. It has given me an avenue to share my faith and support causes in a variety of ways. I am able to support a young girl named Allison, who I met on a mission trip to Peru, through Childreach Ministries. I also have the privilege of helping my hostesses support their favorite charity through our “Party with a Purpose”.

Favorite Quote or Scripture:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.”  - Zig Ziglar

Hobbies, interests, gifts: I enjoy watching my kids participate in activities and reading.

Sue Ann’s Family: I am a Marine spouse of 26 years.  Bob and I have four children.  Kyle is 19.  Hannah is 17, Nathan is 13 and Noah is 9.  We have lived in a number of fabulous places in the US and overseas.  Our current home is Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Greatest challenge as a mom entrepreneur: My greatest challenges right now are organization and time management.  I am passionate about my business and could work 24/7.  So creating time for family, work and myself in equal portions can be tricky.

Advice for other mom entrepreneurs: My advice for other Mom entrepreneurs is simple.  Never give up!  Believe in yourself and stretch to do new things!  Leave your comfort zone!

Why I love being a part of the Christian Mompreneur Sisterhood: I love being a part of the Christian Mompreneur Sisterhood because it is a safe place to ask for prayer, share accomplishments and ask for direction.   We aren’t competing, we are there to build each other up!
